"The Shasta Winterfest abides by the Al-Anon NCWSA Requirement for Alateen Member Safety."

About:

Shasta Winterfest is weekend-long gathering of fellow members and nonmembers of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon/Alateen.  The event is inspired by recovery and filled with guest speakers, marathon meetings, literature and other resources, merchandise, special events, and a prize drawing.

Since there are no dues or fees for AA membership, you may wonder why you have to pay to attend this conference. An AA conference is a special event and not an AA meeting.  Conferences may include AA meetings for the benefit of those attending.

A conference, unlike a regular meeting, requires months of preparation and incurs many dollars of expenses, most of which are paid in advance.  Registration fees cover some of the expense for items such as the rental of the facility, transportation, meals and lodging for our speakers, insurance, printing, postage, and supplies.

The principle of self-support guides us. As responsible AA members, we pay our own way.
