Shasta Winterfest is weekend-long gathering of fellow members and nonmembers of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon/Alateen.  The event is inspired by recovery and filled with guest speakers, marathon meetings, literature and other resources, merchandise, special events, and a prize drawing.

Since there are no dues or fees for AA/Al-Anon membership, you may wonder why you may have to pay to attend this conference. An AA/Al-Anon conference is a special event and not an AA/Al-Anon meeting.  Conferences may include AA/Al-Anon meetings for the benefit of those attending.

A conference, unlike a regular meeting, requires months of preparation and incurs many dollars of expenses, most of which are paid in advance.  Registration fees (if applicable) cover some of the expense for items such as the rental of the facility, transportation, meals and lodging for our speakers, insurance, printing, postage, and supplies. The principle of self-support guides us. As responsible AA/Al-Anon members, we pay our own way.
